What the source tiers mean

Every resource carries a tier badge — Tier A through Tier E. The tier answers one question: where did this information come from?

It is not a rating of the program. A Tier A listing is not “better help” than a Tier D one — it means the record came straight from the federal body that runs the program. A small local organization offering exactly the help you need can sit at a lower tier simply because we assembled its entry by hand.

Tier AOfficial authority

Published by the federal body that runs or funds the program. The listing comes from that body's own records.

For example: HRSA health center data, HUD housing records, USASpending award records.

Tier BVerified public authority

Published by a state or city agency from its own directory or licensing records — the agency that regulates the provider, rather than the provider itself.

For example: Ohio ODJFS childcare licensing, NYS OCFS, GA DECAL.

Tier CVerified partner

Supplied by an organization we have vetted, but not by a government authority.

For example: A partner network sharing its own service directory.

Tier DCurated

Assembled by us from named public sources and checked by hand. Each row records where it came from.

For example: State cash and energy assistance entry points compiled from official state pages.

Tier EUnverified

The source is not in our registry, so we cannot vouch for where the listing came from. This is the default — a row reaches Tier E by omission, not by being judged unreliable.

For example: A newly ingested source that has not been registered yet.

Tiers describe provenance only. They do not tell you whether a program is currently funded, accepting applications, or one you are eligible for — always confirm those with the source itself.

What we collect

  • Resource Fit Profile inputs you choose to provide.
  • Submissions and notification preferences you enter.

Analytics & consent

Analytics is opt-in. Until you grant consent, no analytics events are dispatched. We never send raw uploaded text, emails, phone numbers, precise locations, or sensitive identity context through analytics.

Needs review A consent banner UI is not yet shipped. Consent is currently treated as denied by default.

AI & automated assistance

Some experiences may use automated systems to rank, classify, or summarize resources. AI-assisted outputs may be incomplete or wrong. Important decisions should be verified with the linked official source.

This product is not medical, legal, financial, or immigration advice.

Resource Fit Profile vs full CanonIQ

This product may build a lightweight Resource Fit Profile to make matching more useful. That profile is not the same as your full CanonIQ.

Full CanonIQ is a deeper personal context profile. This product collects only interest-based signals — it does not expose the full CanonIQ output.
